Das Meer verbirgt viele Schätze, die seit jeher eine Inspirationsquelle für Künstler, Dichter und Schriftsteller waren. Der „Kreativ-Workshop“ bietet den Schülerinnen und Schülern die Möglichkeit, mit (natürlichen) Materialien aus dem Meer (die sie zuvor selbst gesammelt haben, z.B. während der Wattwanderung oder während des Strand-Programms) zu arbeiten und eigene Kunstwerke zu gestalten.

Die Schülerinnen und Schüler können im Rahmen des Kreativ-Workshops im Wesentlichen folgende Kenntnisse erwerben:

• Sie üben sich im kreativen Gestalten mit Naturmaterialien. 
• Sie setzen sich individuell mit Spülsaum- und Strandfunden auseinander.
• Sie gestalten einzigartige Andenken an die Klassenreise.
• Sie können auf spielerische Weise Artenkenntnisse wiederholen und vertiefen.

The Wadden Sea region is not only an important ecological entity, but also has a common cultural identity with a very specific regional historic diversity.
In order to learn about the local culture and history, the pupils take part in a cultural rally. In groups of 4 to 6, they discover various aspects ranging from historic settlement to modern-times festivals, local food, etc. They either chose a theme themselves or work on a given task. The pupils get about 3 hours to collect information and to prepare a presentation, which is given to the group in the evening. How and where they obtain the information is up to the pupils and the local conditions. They might choose to consult the tourist information or local library or to ask locals and other visitors.
The pupils…

• learn to identify sources of information in a foreign country and get to know different ways of collecting information
• learn to overcome possible inhibitions to approach people in a foreign language and practice international communication
• learn about the local culture and history and how they relate to a common “Wadden Sea culture”: historic settlement and how man changed the environment (embankment, land reclamation, etc.), traditional and modern land use, sources of income today and in the past, local holidays and celebrations, local food, school system, language, etc.
• get to know different ways of presenting and visualizing results and how to use media such as overhead projectors, flip-charts, pin-boards, etc.
• learn how to present in English (special vocabulary related to presentations)
