Cooperation

External Partners

The IWSS is involved! Besides the close cooperation with all IWSS network partners the IWSS also integrates international “Wadden perspectives” in  regional and inter-regional projects of other partners related to environmental education and education for a sustainable development (ESD).

Among these are:

  • National Park Agency / Environmental Academy of Schleswig-Holstein

Getting to know your “own” Wadden Sea: in cooperation with the National Park Agency, the National Park Service and Schutzstation Wattenmeer the IWSS has arranged a Summer Camp for children from North Frisia and Dithmarschen, the two counties bordering the Wadden Sea of Schleswig-Holstein.
    • Wadden Sea National Park Resource Package

In cooperation with Schutzstation Wattenmeer the IWSS offers teacher training courses upon request about all aspects of the (inter-)national Wadden Sea – in the IWSS partner centre “Wattenmeerhaus Hooge” or elsewhere.
    • School Tour
From 2008 the English IWSS-activity „Conny´s Wadden Adventures“ will be offered as individual programme of the “School Tour”. With Conny Crab and her friends children get to know the Wadden Sea as a cross-border habitat and practice English as common language of understanding.

  • Stattreisen Hannover e.V.
    • Cooperation in the project “Sustainable Class Trips” (2006)
Great experiences in nature also for tomorrow’s pupils: This project will raise the awareness for the need of “sustainable class trips” and create an understanding for the connections between ecology, economy and socio-cultural structures in the tourist sector. The IWSS supports sustainable travelling and assisted with the development of a “Checklist: Sustainable Class Trips” (de).
    • Contest „Sustainable Class Trips“
„Germany’s best class trips“ are currently being searched for in a national contest by bildung+reisen, Stattreisen Hannover and the “Bundesumweltwettbewerb”.
