Full of Flats!

Nature experiences of tidal flats, salt marshes and dunes islands

Scenery and Surroundings

Dornumersiel is located at the coast of the German North Sea and divides the international Wadden Sea shore into two sections of almost equal size: The first section extends towards the north untill Esbjerg (DK), the second section reaches down shouth to Den Helder in The Netherlands. The area around Dornumersiel is well suited for excursions on the tidal flats and tours along the salt marshes.
The "Nordseehaus Dornumsiel" offers a variety of guided tours, an interesting exhibition and a well equipped laboratory for experiments and further investigations of the Wadden Sea's animals and plants. A day-trip to one of the islands Langeoog, Baltrum or Norderney completes the progamme with excursions to the beach and dunes as well as impressions of seal banks and marine life on the boat trips to and from the island.
