Experiences of nature and culture in Denmarks oldes town Ribe

Ort & Umgebung

About one hour north of the German border you can find Denmark’s oldest seaport and trading town Ribe. The town centre nearly hasn’t been changed for centuries. Thus the town offers picturesque impressions of medieval history and early trading. In awide range of historical streets, museums and a “real” Viking village pupilscan experience history and culture, from the Viking time until now. The nearby Wadden Sea, one of the largest nature areas in Central Europe, offers unique experiences of nature and wilderness. Walking on the mudflats, seal tours and ornithology excursions expose pupils to the variety and dynamics of the Wadden Sea ecosystem. The Wadden Sea centre in Vester Vedsted provides insights into the relations between the sea, the marsh and men.
